The story behind the photo is just as moving as the moment itself.Both penguins had lost their partners, but since then they have regularly met at Melbourne's harbor, comforting each other and grooming each other’s feathers.

A volunteer from the penguin colony at St. Kilda beach told Baumgärtner about this special pair. The photographer then spent three days and nights observing the two birds until he managed to capture these impressive photos.Interestingly, the little penguins were unfazed by Baumgärtner's presence and spent hours together gazing at the sparkling skyline of the city🐧
